The Challenge
In response to a directive from our CEO, the imperative for an updated social media visual strategy became apparent, necessitating a thorough evaluation of our current approach. The first step involved delving into a comprehensive examination of the social strategies employed by our competitors to discern emerging trends and identify potential areas for improvement. Defining distinct content buckets was identified as a pivotal task to streamline our messaging and resonate more effectively with our target audience. As we navigated this strategic overhaul, the challenge extended beyond aligning with our existing brand identity; it also involved exploring inventive avenues to propel us ahead of the competition. This intricate process required a delicate balance of staying true to our established image while embracing novel approaches that could set us apart in the dynamic landscape of social media, ultimately ensuring our visual strategy remained not only contemporary but also forward-thinking.
The Solution
Tasked with leveraging competitor research to pioneer innovative solutions for our social media strategy, I embarked on a journey to reimagine our content approach. Conceptualizing visionary solutions, I proposed novel ways to address our content buckets, notably by using occasions like Veterans Day or Mother's Day to spotlight and celebrate our senior team members, weaving compelling narratives into our posts. Delegating tasks to a junior designer, I oversaw the creation of a comprehensive project proposal presentation, ensuring that our vision was effectively communicated. Recognizing the power of video, I strategically incorporated it as a key component in our new approach to enhance engagement. The initiative proved to be a resounding success, resulting in a remarkable 50.8% increase in our LinkedIn following and a substantial 24.4% rise in total reactions within the first 30 days post-release. This demonstrated the impact of our visionary social media strategy in not only expanding our digital footprint but also fostering increased audience interaction and connection.
